Dominique Taylor

I study Biology at the University of Manchester and began my undergraduate placement at MRC in August 2016 where I was introduced to BRIGHT. Throughout my time at university I have developed a particular interest in the role that nutrition plays in development. I feel privileged to have the opportunity to be part of BRIGHT as I enjoy working with young children and the project allows me to work in my academic area of interest.

My primary role in the BRIGHT team is working on the day to day running of the project – I recruit volunteers and carry out antenatal appointments and assessments that take place from 1 month old. I am also looking into the dietary data BRIGHT collects to help understand the effects that diet and iron intake may have on haemoglobin status.
